Does MateFit Burn Fat?

I had been trying to lose weight consistently for a decade after having both of my kids and without success I might add. I felt like I had tried every product on the market, and to be honest I just about have. That is why I decided to start reviewing my unique experiences with all these different products so that you know before you purchase them what a REAL person thought of it. Not a robot and not paid sponsors for the product. Just a Mom trying to get it right and get it tight.

So, What is MateFit?

Weight Loss Product

MateFit is a little different compared to other products that I’ve tried because I usually don’t go for a tea. I am primarily a shake and supplement kind of girl. MateFit though seemed appealing to me since it was entirely herbal and had good and seemingly legit reviews right from the get.

The company claims that the tea will boost your metabolism to prevent your body from storing up excess calories as fat and start metabolizing them to give you more energy throughout your day and more energy so you can work out and lose even more weight. The mix of herbs is advertised as having a lot of antioxidants that are supposed to really benefit your health.

The main thing that makes MateFit work according to their website is EGCG.

What is EGCG?

It stands for Epigallocatechin Gallate (try and say that three times fast). It is found in green tea and has many different benefits like:

Improves cholesterol levels

Lowers blood pressure

Helps with digestion

Stops cravings for sweets

The other ingredients found in MateFit’s 14 Day TeaTox are:

Dandelion Root

Organic Dandelion Root, Peppermint Loose Leaf Tea, Organic Rosemary Leaf, Organic Senna Leaf , Organic Cinnamon Powder, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Hibiscus Flower Powder, Organic Rhubarb Root Powder, Organic Lemongrass Leaf and Organic Grapefruit Peel

So, I tried out the MateFit 14 Day Mini TeaTox to see how I liked it and to see if it helped me achieve my weight loss goal of 2 lbs per week. I not only drank the tea but dieted and exercises as the website and packaging suggests one should do for best results.

I would wake up every morning and steep the tea in boiling water for 7-10 minutes and then wait until it was cool enough to drink to enjoy it as I would normally my morning coffee. This was TOUGH. I missed my coffee and for the first 2-3 days I didn’t focus on much else other than that I was cranky without my morning Joe. By the end of my first week weigh in I had actually lost 1 pound. I was eating pretty clean and doing an hour of cardio 3 times a week and yoga on one other day. However, I normally do watch what I eat and exercise a little bit.

What I liked and What I didn’t

I really started to enjoy the taste by the end of it, it definitely tastes herbal, almost a little grassy, but warming too with a hint of spice from the ginger root. It tasted “healthy” if you know what I mean. The thing I felt this tea was most effective at doing was merely reducing my water weight helping me to feel more hydrated and naturally energized too. Overall, I would do a mini Teatox again if I was feeling bloated or just unsexy. I recommend trying the mini before committing to buy pricier packages.
